The government's 10-year commitment is an opportunity to spend the money in ways that make for long-term, sustained improvements in the prospects for the people of Barry

The 10 year funding programme starts properly in April 2026 but development funding was released in 2025. Some of this funding has been used to test project ideas as well as launch the programme and develop the Regeneration plan to be submitted to UK Government. A wide range of projects will be delivered in the next few years, to meet the objectives of the Barry Plan for Neighbourhoods:

People have vibrant places to shop, work and enjoy
People are active in, and proud of their community
Young people can fulfill their potential
People have access to quality jobs

Neuro Café

Neuro Café at Cadog's Corner! A supportive, inclusive space for parents and carers of neurodivergent children in Barry.

Safe Communities, Strong Families Fun Day

Safe Communities, Strong Families Fun Day! Bringing local residents together in a welcoming and family-friendly environment while increasing awareness of community safety and the wide range of support services available across Barry.

Gig Ready Barry

Gig Ready Barry! A group of local up-and-coming musicians get some industry training and mentoring to support them develop a career.

Big Barry Clean

The Big Barry Clean Trial (Summer 2025), was a town-wide, summer-long litter picking push, engaging with a wide range of local groups, schools and individual residents in collaboration with Barry Town Council and Keep Wales Tidy.
