The government's 10-year commitment is an opportunity to spend the money in ways that make for long-term, sustained improvements in the prospects for the people of Barry
The 10 year funding programme starts properly in April 2026 but development funding was released in 2025. Some of this funding has been used to test project ideas as well as launch the programme and develop the Regeneration plan to be submitted to UK Government. A wide range of projects will be delivered in the next few years, to meet the objectives of the Barry Plan for Neighbourhoods:
- People feel safer in Barry
- People have vibrant places to shop, work and enjoy
- People are active in, and proud of their community
- Young people can fulfill their potential
- People have access to quality jobs
